Over the past couple of weeks we have had the pleasure hosting 3 of our long standing clients from Kosova. Each customer has their own specific requirements of vehicle models, dismantling and loading specifications.
Having a good sized storage yard and warehouse space with 2 separate bays we were able to dedicate our staff and resources and dismantle for each customer at the same time, trucks in bay 1 and vans in bay 2. The teams were split up and the work commenced.
The 1st load was relatively easy. Iveco, Peugeot and Ford vans were dismantled and cut just behind the dashboard allowing for a straightforward load and once unloaded at the destination the customer can display on his racking and sell the parts accordingly.
The 2nd and 3rd containers comprised of Mercedes, MAN & Iveco trucks & tractor units. These take much longer to dismantle than the vans so needed much more planning, time and resources.
One small problem we faced was how to remove and the load the 2.5 ton crane on one of the Mercedes trucks. This involved the safe burning of the crane by our highly skilled staff and supported by our fork lift truck and JCB operators. Eventually the crane was safely removed, loaded and secured in the container. It gathered quite an audience from our staff but the customer was more than happy and that’s the main thing. The next few days were dedicated to the dismantling and loading of the customers remaining trucks in 2 containers back to back, finally closing the doors of the last one and wishing it a safe journey on Monday night.
